RecQuery-TC
RecQuery-TC is GMB's powerful knowledge management portal.
RecQuery-TC is a totally thin-client (browser resident) inquiry product
used to access the RecFind-Corporate relational database over a
LAN, WAN or the Internet, Intranet or Extranet.
Because it runs within a
browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape) RecQuery-TC provides
instant, secure access to your corporate data from anywhere in the world.
Never be
without those important papers again. Search, display, print and copy
(Save As) all objects within the RecFind-Corporate database including
Metadata, paper records, electronic documents, images and WorkFlow
records.
Read and download the latest version of
any report or policy wherever you are. You can even run your PowerPoint
sales presentation from within RecQuery-TC even though it is on a server
thousands of miles away.

- Access, View, Print and Copy
- RecQuery-TC gives you the ability to access,
view, print and copy (save as) all objects within the RecFind-Corporate
database including Metadata, paper records, electronic documents, images
and Workflow records.

- Search
for File Folders
- RecQuery searches for File Folders by File
Folder Number, Old Series Numbers, Barcode Numbers, Text found in either
the File Folder title or description, Phrases found in either the File
Folder title or description, File Folder Title and/or Extended Metadata.

for Documents
- RecQuery-TC searches for Documents by their
Registration Number, Barcode Number, Text found in either the author or
abstract fields, Phrases found in either the author or abstract fields,
Extended Metadata and/or Addressees.

- Search for
Boxes
- RecQuery-TC allows a user to retrieve
information in regards to a box and the files or documents that it
contains. RecQuery-TC can locate a box by Box Number, Box Barcode
Number, Box Text and Box Phrase.

for Document Emails and Attachments
- RecQuery-TC has four different methods to
search for document attachments - Contents Search Normal, Contents
Search Plain English, Attachment Name Search, Checked Out Versions.

- Add
Electronic Documents
- RecQuery-TC will allow a User to add a new
attachment to a document profile that already exists in the RecFind
database.

- Check-In, Check Out
- RecQuery-TC has the functionality to allow
Users to check in or check out electronic document attachments. This
means that if a User wants to check out a document from the RecFind
database, they can place it into a work folder, work on it, then check
it back in to the same document profile that it originally came from.
While the document is checked out, other Users will still be able to
view the checked out version but will not be able to check out the
document themselves. The User ID of the person who checked out the
document will be displayed beside the checked out version. Once the
document has been checked back in other Users will then be able to check
it out.

- Workflow
- If workflow is being used within the RecFind
installation, each Action Officer will have access to a To Do list
within RecQuery-TC. This will mean that the Action Officer can view
actions that have been assigned that are either completed or incomplete.

- Security
- As a form of security you must be an authorised
user. Your RecFind Administrator will supply you with these details. If
your are already a user of RecFind-Corporate, this will be the same as
your RecFind User ID. As a further form of security, a password must be
nominated. This may be changed at any time by contacting your RecFind
Administrator.

To use RecQuery-TC, you will require the following:
- Web Server Requirements
- RecQuery-TC requires Microsoft Internet
Information Server V4 running on a Windows NT 4 server or Microsoft
Internet Information Server V5 running on a Windows 2000 server.

- GMB recommend that a minimum configuration for
Microsoft Internet Information Server be a 166MHz Pentium processor and
128MB of memory. This machine should be solely dedicated to Microsoft
Internet Information Server and RecQuery-TC.

- The preferred configuration would be a 400Mhz
or higher Pentium processor and 256MB of memory.
- Web Server Requirements
- RecQuery-TC runs through a web browser, meaning
that any machine capable of running a web browser such as Microsoft
Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator is capable of running RecQuery-TC.

- To RecQuery-TC you will therefore require one
of the following browsers:
- MicroSoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later (for
IBM compatible personal computer)
- Netscape Navigator 4.08 or later (for IBM
compatible personal computer)
- Netscape Communicator 4.61 or later (for IBM
compatible personal computer).
as well as:
- A minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600
- TCP/IP Protocol
