RecFind-Button
The RecFind-Button is the world's easiest to use electronic document
capture tool.
The Button 'sits on' your desktop (for example, your Microsoft Word
toolbar below) and allows you to quickly and easily capture any electronic
document and store and index it into the RecFind-Corporate database.

Clicking on the Button will display the following document capture
dialog box.

Simply enter the required indexing (metadata) information and click
"OK".
In addition, the RecFind-Button allows you to either create document
profiles (Metadata) or search for existing document profiles. It also
includes Check In, Check Out for electronic documents stored in RecFind-Corporate.
All RecFind-Corporate security measures still apply when using the
RecFind-Button.

- Security
- In able to use the RecFind-Button you will need
to sign on to RecFind-Corporate. You will need to have your User ID and
Password defined in RecFind-Corporate. This is necessary to preserve the
security required by RecFind-Corporate. If you don't have your User ID
and Password registered in RecFind-Corporate you will be unable to use
the Button.

- Add Attachment
- The Add Attachment form is the main form used
to attach your current electronic document to a RecFind-Corporate
Document profile. It allows you to decide if your current document will
be attached to a new RecFind Document profile or to an existing one.
This form contains a subset of the most important RecFind Document
profile fields.

- Check In, Check Out
- The Check-In process is when you add a new or
changed document to the RecFind-Corporate database. Check-out is the
process whereby you take a copy of a document stored in RecFind-Corporate and modify it. Check-out is not the same as simply taking a
copy or 'Saving As' a document. When you tell RecFind you are checking
out a document it marks that documents as checked out and will not allow
it to be checked out by anyone else until you either check it in or the
RecFind Administrator 'Cancels' your Check-out.

To use the RecFind-Button, you will require the following:
- IBM compatible, personal computer with a
Pentium or higher processor (or equivalent (i.e. Celeron, AMD, etc)
- A hard disk or file server with at least 200MB
of free space plus an additional 150MB for the installation process
- A mouse
- A VGA compatible or better display (800 x 600
resolution)
- A sound card and speakers (optional, required
for sound functionality)
- 64MB of RAM minimum (128 recommended) Note:
Depending on operating system, additional RAM may be required. For
example, if using Windows 2000 128MB RAM is required as a minimum
- Microsoft Windows 98/2000/XP
